Barcelona to Host First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
