Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.
Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.
The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
He has published more than 40 books in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
